Meadows and Mermaids: New Dresses

I have been busy sewing new dresses, trying to keep up with sales.
I love the many ruffles in the new mermaid dress. The mermaid apron dress lays over an under dress of seahorses. The bustle is layers of ruffles decorated with trim. The dress spins and twirls.

I also made several reverse knot dresses featuring pink meadows and green and blue flowers. I have been mixing soft floral patterns with stronger geometric ones.

A dress was special ordered for a granddaughter. It was a blue and purple three tiered dress. I am excited to see pictures of the dress on the young girl.

Gift Show Goodies

The shop is full of new goodies we bought at the LA Gift Show. We walked aisles looking for the perfect items to add to the dome. We met many interesting merchants who travel around the globe bringing back with them beautiful merchandise. They were full of passion for their businesses, the villages they support and the many stories they had to share.
The shelves are decorated with silk scarves in rich colors.

There are beautiful Chinese lacquered boxes.

We found intricate bamboo carved boxes, jade bracelets, anklets, skirts, blankets, and prayer flags.

There are new handmade dresses and musical instruments. We also have sage smokers.

Many of the new items are from across the globe, fair trade, organic or handmade.

June's First Saturday

We are very excited to announce for First Saturday in Three Rivers, June 5, 2010, Anne Brown will be at the dome creating pottery. The shop is full of new pieces from Anne. There are new plates, bowls, berry bowls, soup cups, cream and sugar pairs and pitchers.Come visit us and experience the process of ceramic art.

Ruffles

I have been busy trying to keep up with dress sales. Here are some of my new dresses. I am exited to be making new styles and smaller sizes. I have lots of new fabric that I am playing with.

Rows of ruffles make this dress a little girls delight. The dress has an apron overdress and a ruffled underdress. The back bustle is layers of ruffles. Ric rac trims the bodice and skirt. The dress is completed with a bow in the back. It is a size 3/4.

Birds and feathers adorn this pretty little dress. The shoulder ties come to the back and tie in a fancy bow. The skirt is full and perfect for dancing in.

The bodice is fully lined. This dress is a size 12-18m.

I used the same fabric from the ruffled dress to create this tiered dress. Sprays of flowers cover the bodice.

Ric Rac trims the bottom tier and shoulder strap.

Blues and purples combine in this tiered dress.

Black and white fabric splashed with color make up the skirt of this reverse knot dress. The bodice is a bright polka dot. The ruffle and straps are black and white striped fabric. It is a size 18-24m.

More dresses will be added to the shop as they are sewn. Bright fruits, birds, and playful prints are waiting to be cut up and put back together into rows of ruffles.

Spring Scarves, Dresses and Goods

We are very excited that it is Spring. The shop is full of new items, beautiful colorful scarves, reflective glass, bells, chimes and jewelry.

We have recycled silk sari rugs and exquisitely crafted purses.

There are suns, moons and angels made from recycled oil drums.

We have new soaps in luxuriant fragrances.

Come see unique hand crafted dresses made for little girls.

Spring Dresses

This month will have little girl dresses sewn by Yasoda Perry, featuring modern fabrics mixed with delicate prints. Pockets, trim and applique embellish each dress to make them an original. Stop by to purchase one for the little girl in your heart.

A three tiered dress in a dark purple paisley combined with light green and soft pinks. The dress in trimmed in lace and ruffled at the bottom with a vibrant pink tulle. The sleeves and neck have elastic casings. This dress is a size 5/6.

Spring butterflies dance across this three tiered dress with a yoke neck. The yoke is a soft green and the ruffle on the bottom of the skirt is a deep magenta. The dress is full and perfect for twirling. This dress is a size 3/4.

A first glimpse of spring to come.

A dark brown corduroy dress trimmed with rows of ricrac and ribbon. This dress ties in the front and back letting it fit many sizes of girls. It is lined in the bodice.

Little fairies, birds and flowers create a magical knot dress. The top pattern is a modern dark pink as well as the ruffle. The ties and the accent pieces in the skirt are a light green. This dress is a size 4.

Bright reds and blues are combined in this knot dress. The skirt is bordered by blue polka dots. Red ric rac trims the bodice. The dolly wears a matching dress. This dress is a size 6/7.

First Saturday, hats and sales

Wool and silk hats are here. We now have warm hats in a beautiful assortment of colors and styles. Cool days and even colder nights are upon us. A hat is sure way to keep your body warm.

Come explore Three Rivers and drop by the dome to meet the artists. We will also have snacks and chai.

We will also be having a "no sales tax" sale on December 5. When you make a purchase and mention our blog we will take the tax off the tag. This offer is good for one purchase per person.

Metal, Silk and Tulle

We are excited about our newest additions to the shop. Recycled metal art works from Beyond Borders and Silk scarves and pouches. Tulle tutus are ready to be given to any little girl for the holidays.

Recycled oil drums are the beginnings of the the metal art work that hangs around the dome walls. Artisans from Haiti create these metal works with simple tools. Gardens, outside fences and home interiors look beautiful decorated with these traditional folk art pieces.

Silk scarves have arrived from northern India. They are beautifully printed and full of vibrant colors. They are the perfect soft scarf to tie around your neck or layer with a jacket. We also have silk pouches that are delicately embroidered.

Tulle tutus are the perfect gift for the little girl that loves to dress up. They are a full tutu made with soft tulle. Each tutu is filled with silk flowers and embellished with a satin ribbon. This is a gift that enhances playtime and lets their imagination blossom. They are handmade by Yasoda Perry.

Dasi Designs

We are very excited to introduce a new line of jewelery. Dasi Designs are the creations of Amrita Sullivan. Each piece is superbly crafted and features a wide variety of semi precious stones, fresh water pearls, crystals, glass and silver. The jewelery varies in theme from earthy to whimsical. Each piece is unique and reasonably priced. Come visit the shop on November 7, 2009 to see the entire collection.

Hens, Scarves and Water Bottles

This week we added colorful stainless steel water bottles made by Ecousable. They hold 10oz, 160z or 33oz of water. Sports tops or fabric wraps can be added to the drinkers delight.

Beautiful soft cotton scarves also arrived in a variety of colors and textures. They sparkle and catch the light creating an enchanting style. Pair them with your favorite coat or jeans.

Prosperity hens are a favorite in the shop and a new brood are now hanging. They are made from bits of fabric, glass beads, and a hand formed bronze bell. They are crafted in Northern India where women formed co-operatives to help their families. They are one of many fair traded items found in the shop.

Heart's Desire is going to be involved in a new happening in Three Rivers. On the first Saturday of every month merchants and artists will open their doors for shopping, eating, music and merriment. We are very happy to be a part of this wonderful event.

Coffee and Wifi

Exciting news! We now have coffe, tea (green and chai), hot chocolate and cold water for sale. Visitors can also sit out on the river deck under the trees and use free Wifi. Come into the shop and get the password.
